About Becca Marshall
These About Me pages are usually written in the third person. Unless that blogger is so incredibly successful and important that there are outside parties writing their 300-word biographies for them. I am not incredibly successful or important. And I think that writing in the third person sounds pretentious, so I’m not going to do it.
I was born and raised in Reston, Va. That’s twenty-one years of superb suburb living. Growing up in the D.C. metropolitan area was fantastic (and pretty lame) for a variety of reasons, but what I’m most grateful for has been the diversity. During my elementary school’s International Day festival we celebrated 121 countries! I guarantee that would not have been the case if I were from Iowa.
For the record, I love Iowa. Corn is delicious.
I’m a senior communications major at GMU studying Public Relations and Electronic Journalism. My goal is to become so incredibly successful and important that outside parties will write 300-word biographies for me so that I do not have to. Where will this success and importance come from? Excellent question. I honestly don’t know where my career path is headed. I would like to take my PR and EJ education and do some sort of public relations/social media combination gig for an organization like Autism Speaks or United Cerebral Palsy.
